Among the worst for tyre-related crashes
Kilmarnock Standard
|July 02, 2025
Experts have revealed that East Ayrshire and North Ayrshire are among the worst regions in Scotland for vehicle-defected collisions caused by illegal or faulty tyres.
BlackCircles have conducted research to determine which parts of the UK have had the most collisions caused by illegal, defective, and under-inflated tyres between 2019 and 2023, calculating this per 100,000 people in each area.
East Ayrshire was ranked worst with a 100 per cent rate, where all four recorded vehicle defect collisions involved faulty tyres.
