Police Arrest 17 Long-Time Absconders Across Kashmir

In a major breakthrough to track down fugitives, Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended Seventeen (17) longtime absconders from Srinagar, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Shopian districts & PD Sopore.
These individuals had been evading arrest for years, some for over three decades, a police spokesman said.
In Srinagar, J&K Police have successfully apprehended 06 absconders who had been evading arrest for years.
The arrested absconders have been identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Marazi, son of Mohd Abdullah Marazi, resident of Sonwar, Srinagar, absconding for 11 years in Case FIR No. 21/2015 under Sections 8/21, 22, 29 NDPS Act of PS Lalbazar. Arshid Ahmad Shoora, son of Ab Rashid Shoora, resident of Bota Kadal, Lalbazar (presently at Hamchi Saidpora, Hazratbal, Srinagar) evading arrest for 8 years in a case registered under the NI Act of PS Lalbazar. Habibulla Bhat, son of Ab Samad, resident of Kralpora Kupwara, A/P Lalbazar evading arrest for 27 years in Case FIR No. 39/1998 U/S 294 RPC of PS Shergarhi. Gowhar Ahmad Wani, son of Wali Mohammad Wani, resident of Arigam, Budgam evading arrest for 4 years in Case FIR No. 52/2021 U/S 379, 511 IPC of PS Shergarhi. Mashooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Ramnagri Shopian, A/P Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam, Srinagar evading arrest for 4 years in Case FIR No. 119/2009 U/S 379 RPC of PS Shergarhi. Uneeb Mukhtiyar Nathkhan, son of Mukhtiyar Nathkhan, resident of 90 Feet Road, Soura absconded for 16 years in Case FIR No. 119/2009 U/S 379 RPC of PS Shergarhi, the statement reads.
