J&K Team For Tibet To Find Truth Of ‘Shahtoosh Threat’

SrinagarChief Minister Farooq Abdullah today said the Centre would be approached to seek China’s permission for facilitating the visit of a team to Tibet to find if continuing Shahtoosh trade threatens antelope.
Speaking at a function held in observance of the millennium’s first wildlife weak hare this afternoon, the chief minister said the team will comprise wildlife officials and representatives of Shahtoosh traders whose trip would be sponsored by the government. “If the team feels threat to antelope as genuine, the Shah-toosh traders will have nothing to do with it”, he said, adding that with this the controversy over the issue would end once for all.
