J&K Has Rs 196.29 Crore Pending Liabilities Under MGNREGS: Centre

Jammu & Kashmir has pending liabilities of Rs 196.29 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), according to data presented in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
Responding to a question on funds owed to States under the scheme, Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Union Territory has dues of Rs 5.48 crore under the wage head, Rs 188.50 crore under material costs and Rs 2.31 crore under administrative expenditure as on November 26, 2025.
