Centre Notifies ESZ Around Tral Wildlife Sanctuary

The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has notified an eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) around Tral Wildlife sanctuary.
In a notification, a copy of which lies with Kashmir Observer, the Union Ministry notified that an area to an extent of zero to 3.26 kilometers from the boundary of Tral Wildlife Sanctuary as its ESZ.
“The extent of the eco-sensitive zone around the Tral Wildlife Sanctuary ranges from 0 kilometer to 3.26 kilometer from its boundary, encompassing an area of 127.10 square kilometers, which includes 26 villages,” reads the notification.
