Bukhari Welcomes Move to Restore Rajbagh Bridge as Motorable Link

Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday welcomed the government's decision to begin converting the Rajbagh footbridge over River Jhelum, near the historic Silk Factory, into a motorable bridge.

The bridge, he said, was originally designed to ease traffic congestion in the city centre before the project was altered during the tenure of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Terming the earlier decision to downgrade the project as “foolish, shortsighted and ill-advised,” Bukhari said the change reflected a “misplaced understanding of public interest and administrative priorities.”
