Border Villages Bloom As Tourist Footfall Rises
Kashmir Observer
|JULY 1, 2025 ISSUE
After a pause of a couple of months due to tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), the Gurez Valley and other border areas of Jammu and Kashmir are now gradually witnessing a rise in tourist footfall.
As temperatures soar in the plains, many people are moving toward the cooler climes of Gurez, seeking relief from the heat wave and to enjoy the region's natural environment.
Officials told KNO that tourist activity has resumed, with an increasing number of visitors coming from Kashmir and other parts of the country. The scenic villages of Gurez, located close to the LoC, have once again become popular among trekkers and nature enthusiasts.
