10-YEAR PLAN TO BOOST WIDE AREA OF RAMSGATE
RAMSGATE is moving from “striving to get by” to “thriving” following the unanimous approval of a new, ambitious 10-Year Vision and Regeneration Plan, driven by a £20 million Government investment.
The plan, titled 'Revive and Thrive - Ramsgate Rising,' acts as a blueprint for the town's future, focusing on tackling both visible neglect and deep-rooted social challenges identified by residents and businesses.
The comprehensive document was approved by the dedicated Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board on Friday, November 21, and had its final review by Thanet District Council's Cabinet on Thursday, November 27, before being submitted to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
The Regeneration Plan is a direct result of a community engagement process, which saw contributions from more than 1,500 residents and nearly 100 businesses.
While participants showed "clear passion" for Ramsgate, frustrations emerged regarding the appearance of the town centre, empty shops, and concerns over crime and antisocial behaviour.
