HE HAS swapped shinpads for a whistle but Tyrone Sterling is excited for the season ahead and his new coaching role at Margate Football Club.
The defender decided to retire at the end of the 2024-25 season, but the 37-year-old hasn’t lost any of his passion for the game.
And with Margate ready to make another assault on the Isthmian League South East Division title, Sterling is keen to prove his worth to player-manager Ben Greenhalgh.
"It felt a bit weird at first," Sterling told the Margate website. "Being at training and not lacing up the boots - it made me want to jump in with the lads!
