Harrods' legal plan over al-Fayed
Irish Sunday People
|June 15, 2025
HARRODS is planning legal action against the estate of disgraced ex-owner Mohamed al-Fayed, it has emerged.
The department store, owned by a Qatari sovereign wealth fund since 2010, reportedly plans to file a passing-over application in the High Court as early as next week.
The move hopes to recoup compensation running into millions for alleged sexual abuse victims of the late businessman.
The legal action reportedly seeks to remove the executors of al-Fayed's estate, replacing them with professional executors who would be expected to probe the estate's assets and liabilities.
