SECOND LOOK LED PROBE TO TINA'S KILLER
Irish Sunday Mirror
|July 20, 2025
A TOP detective who worked on the Tina Satchwell investigation told how "fresh eyes" are what ultimately what cracked it.
-
Det Chief Sup Colm Noonan, who headed up a major search operation in Mitchell's Wood in Castlemartyr, Co Cork, in 2018, declared officers "did their very best".
Tina was murdered by her husband Richard in March 2017 - keeping her body hidden under the stairs for years.
Her remains were not found in their Cork home until October 2023, and Satchwell was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in June.
Gardai faced criticism over how they did not find her body sooner, despite an extensive search of the house in Youghal six years previously.
