Carruth mourns passing of ring legend George, his role model

GEORGE Foreman was not only one of the greatest fighters ever, he was also an inspiration and a role model, Irish Olympic Gold medallist Michael Carruth claimed yesterday.
The Dubliner, who counted the late former two-time world heavyweight champion as a friend, said boxing has lost “one of the greats”.
The 76-year old boxing legend, who fought the likes of Evander Holyfield, Joe Frazier, and Muhammad Ali - died on Friday at the age of 76.
He was a shrewd businessman, becoming a household name thanks to his now-famous grill which earned him $137.5million.
