Rampant Rangers pour Moore misery on Nancy's Hoops

BY MICHAEL GANNON DANNY ROHL'S Rangers are on the up. Celtic's Wilfried Nancy could well be on the way out.

The Ibrox side survived a whirlwind first half to pick off the Parkhead men in the second half on their own patch.

Youssef Chermiti's double and Mikey Moore's third overturned Celtic's first-half lead to blast Rangers bang into the title race.

And it also pushed Nancy to the brink.

On the eve of the clash the Frenchman begged for time. But, after slumping to an Old Firm defeat - his sixth loss in eight games - it could well be time is now up.

It's been a disaster from day one for Nancy - and this latest sore one summed it up.

Celtic were sharp and should have been well ahead. But they paid a severe price for woeful finishing and poor defending.

Rangers hung tough then made them pay to move level on points with the Hoops, who are going in the opposite direction.

For a while Celtic looked decent here, before a shocking second-period collapse.

Yang Hyun-jun raced past Rangers defenders before blasting beyond Jack Butland for the 19th-minute opener.

And the Hoops had plenty of chances to bury Rohl's men who were overrun in midfield and rattled at the back.

Djeidi Gassama almost pinched a leveller on the counter but it was practically one-way traffic with Butland making saves or Celts missing sitters.
