PORTSMOUTH v ARSENAL

- BY TOM CANTON

MAKE no mistake, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is up FOUR the cup this year.

The famous old trophy is the only silverware Arteta has so far managed to get his hands on since being appointed as Gunners boss in December 2019.

However, the victory - while the country was in the middle of the grip of the Covid pandemic in August 2020 - must have felt a little hollow. No supporters were allowed inside Wembley to share the moment with their team as the Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 courtesy of two goals fom Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And that’s why Arteta, who also won the cup twice with Arsenal as a player, wants to go all the way again this season.

And he knows it will take his whole squad to do it.

“We want that one for sure - and the big ones,’ said Arteta, alluding to both the Premier League and the Champions League.
