U21S NEED FAST START TONIGHT

IT MAY be September but the year is only beginning now for Ireland's Under 21 side who start their European Championship qualification campaign tonight in Moldova.
This is manager Jim Crawford's fourth attempt to qualify, having assisted Stephen Kenny initially before he stepped up to become manager in 2020.
Last time out, Ireland's campaign was derailed by Latvia. The time before they blew it against Luxembourg.
The lesson? Don't underestimate anyone.
Crawford said: “The big thing to know is that this is a sprint. We were slow starters in my first campaign, drawing with Luxembourg and then beaten by Montenegro.
