Tributes to 'true republican' Mansergh

FORMER Fianna Fáil Minister Martin Mansergh has been described as a “true Irish republican” after he died aged 78.

Dr Mansergh passed away while on a trip with other parliamentarians in the Western Sahara.
He was a key figure in the North's peace process and served as a TD and junior minister and was an advisor to three Taoisigh.
President Michael D Higgins led tributes to Mr Mansergh and expressed his condolences to his wife Elizabeth, children, extended family, former colleagues and friends.
