Study finds bedtime scrolling hikes insomnia risk by 59%

USING a mobile phone or laptop in bed raises the risk of insomnia by 59%, researchers have warned.

One hour's screen use after going turning in also reduces sleep time by 24 minutes, Norwegian experts found.

Social media use is no worse than any other form of screen time, according to the survey of more than 45,000 young adults in Norway which was published in the journal Frontiers in Psychiatry.
