Fitzpatrick delivers some rare Ryder Cup magic to help destroy world's best
MATT FITZPATRICK secured his first away Ryder Cup point in style as Ludwig Aberg gave Scottie Scheffler another spanking.
The Yorkshireman had a record on the road as bad as his beloved Sheffield United before Bethpage Black.
He was 0-5 at Hazeltine and Whistling Straits, with his only point in eight previous matches coming in a fourballs win with Rory Mcllroy in Rome.
So when the US Open champion (right) nailed a 12-foot birdie putt for a crushing 5&3 foursomes win over the world No.1 and world No.3 Russell Henley, he repeatedly punched the air in delight.
It was a moment he had waited nine years for. It was his Ryder Cup redemption.
