McInroy strikes late to get Shels winning again

- BY PAUL O'HEHIR

KERR MCINROY blasted a 90th minute winner as champions Shelbourne came from behind to rediscover that winning feeling.

An energised Damien Duff saw his men deliver a performance laced with characters as they summoned a fightback to cancel out Mason Melia's first half opener.

Harry Wood pounced early in the second half and the Reds were the only side in the game thereafter as the lights went out on St Pat's.

And yet despite that second half show of strength, the contest was veering towards a draw only for McInroy to take matters into his own hands.

Duff reckons he is the best midfielder in the league and the former Celtic man capped a strong individual display with a brilliant winner.

And it ensured that Shels would avoid a sixth game without a win, whereas St Pat's have now won just once in six.

It wasn't straightforward for Shels as they were poor in the opening half but the pendulum swung their way on the back of Duff's half-time triple change.
