RONAN HAS PUT BODY ON LINE FOR MEATH
Irish Daily Star
|April 12, 2025
RONAN JONES promises he'll be quick as he details his catalogue of injuries.
Best of luck with that.
He's had so many since he started with Meath in 2016 that you could hardly summarise them in a sentence or two.
"I'll go top to bottom," he says. "I broke my eye socket, broke my cheekbone, broke my nose. I've had shoulder surgery on my right shoulder, dislocated shoulder on my left, torn labrum - never got that sorted.
"Broken arm. Ended up having two surgeries on that. One of them was a bone graft, it didn't heal, so I have a plate in this (right) arm. Two surgeries on my hand.
"I had Gilmore's groin. Had surgery on that 14 weeks or 15 weeks ago. I have broken my left fibula against Sligo in the Championship. I tore my PCL against Down in 2023. Ankle surgery, so I've a pulley in my ankle as well."
Then you have some soft tissue injuries outside of that and non-football related stuff like burst appendix.
He reckons since he's started out with Meath, he's only played in around 30 per cent of games.
