Probe to be launched in wake of fire

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a large wildfire caused major destruction at a national park, as more gorse fires continue to devastate the area.

Walking trails at Wild Nephin National Park in Ballycroy have been forced to close following major structural damage, with the Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail having most of its terrain burned.

A spokesperson for the park said the fire, which occurred on Friday night, is a reminder of how "careless actions" impact nature.
