Pair sentenced over fatal high-speed road chase

TWO men have been jailed for a total of 12 years and three months after they were involved in a high-speed chase resulting in the death of an innocent motorcyclist and serious injuries to two others.
Michael Stanners, 41, Pineview Gardens, Moyross, Limerick, was jailed for six and half years and given a 10-year road ban.
He was previously convicted by a jury at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court of two counts of endangerment. Daniel Philips, 35, Crecora Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, was also jailed for five years and nine months and given a 10-year road ban.
