Gardai continue to probe huge farm after shock disappearance
GARDAI have no plans to wind down the search for Michael Gaine over a month on from his baffling disappearance.
Cops confirmed to this paper that searches across Michael's 1,000 acre farm in Kenmare, Co Kerry, will continue for the rest of this week.
It means officers have now had a presence on the land since Friday, March 21.
That was the day Michael, 56, was reported missing from the farm, located just outside Kenmare town and roughly three kilometres from the home he shares with his wife.
Despite a search of rivers, lakes, the sea, mountainous terrain, and all across the farm by gardai, the Defence Forces, Civil Defence, drones, helicopters and over 250 volunteers, no trace of him has been found.
Asked about their continued presence on the land as the search now goes into its fifth week without answers, a Garda spokesman told us: "The missing persons investigation into the disappearance of Michael Gaine is ongoing.
"Searches continue to be carried out in the Kenmare area, with the assistance of specialist services as required.
"Searches will continue into this week"
Officers are understood to be using aerial surveys taken by drones that have mapped out the landscape.
JEEP
They are going back over areas previously searched in an effort to find any evidence.
