The gravity of his situation isn't lost on new Hoops boss Nancy who knows the heat is on but says that is one of the reasons he accepted the job in first place

- BY KEITH JACKSON

CRISIS hit Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy has admitted his 'ass is on fire' after a catastrophic first fortnight in Scottish football.

The Frenchman takes his side to face Dundee United at Tannadice tonight on the back of three crushing defeats which have led to sections of the club's support calling for the new man's head already.

But a defiant Nancy is adamant that he doesn't have to prove his credentials to any of his critics - even though he is fully aware that the heat is on.

Nancy said: I'm grateful to be here because Celtic is Celtic. It's as simple as that.

"But again, it comes back to results. I am craving to win games - not to shut the mouth of everybody. I don't do this battle.

"But just for my players, just for the board, just for the club.

"For me life is like that. People might think I'm an idealist as a person but not at all. I know exactly who I am and exactly where I want to go. And I know at this moment, yeah my ass is burning!

"But stay strong and do what you need to do to be better."
