MATHEUS FRANCA climbed off the bench to rescue FA Cup semi-finalists Crystal Palace from a shock defeat - and deny Southampton the win to surpass Derby's record low Premier League points tally.

MAT FINISH IS HEARTBREAK FOR SAINTS

Franca scored his first Eagles goal in stoppage time to cancel out Paul Onuachu's first-half strike and rob luckless Saints of a surprise victory.

Onuachu's header had looked set to be enough to take the almost relegated Saints above Derby's pitiful total of of 11 points from 2008.

The hosts survived a second-minute scare as Jean-Philippe Mateta raced clear of Jan Bednarek, before seeing his shot slam back off the underside of the bar, narrowly avoiding keeper Aaron Ramsdale on the way back out.
