DIVA LUNA Ben Pauling Didn’t quite live up to her trainer’s high expectations over hurdles last season but showed what she’s capable of when blitzing her rivals in a Listed mares’ novice on her chase debut last month, jumping like an old pro, and duly followed up at Warwick. Bigger days await, with next month’s Grade One Scilly Isles mentioned, but wherever she goes next she’s one to follow. Connections are lukewarm on an Arkle bid so it will likely be the Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, for which she is currently 16-1.

4m2f Eider in February is the plan. That sort of race should bring out the best in him.
