MAHON RESIGNS FROM WNT ROLE

IRELAND boss Carla Ward has begun the search for a new assistant manager following the shock resignation of former Ireland international Alan Mahon.

The ex-Tranmere and Blackburn midfielder’s decision to step down was confirmed by the FAI.

Mahon took up the role in January and he spoke via an FAI statement about his departure, which he said was “due to personal reasons”.
