'€565k' home being sold by CAB...and they even put the mob-stairs back in

Mago's old house a steal at €295k

STRIPPED Images show off the Dublin house, formerly owned by Kinahan target, James 'Mago' Gately

THE former home of Kinahan cartel target James ‘Mago’ Gately, which was seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau, is to go on sale - complete with a new staircase.

The house, which also has an extension, described in the High Court as “the size of a two-storey apartment”, is located at Glin Drive in Dublin's Coolock.

It will go under the hammer at Wilson's Auctions on November 12 with a guide price of €295k.

Gately originally purchased the property for €125,000 in 2013.

However, the High Court heard the gangland figure spent another €440,000 refurbishing it and the CAB successfully argued it was the proceeds of crime.

Gately claimed while fighting the case that his pal and his late dad helped him build the extension and helped refurbish it “practically for free”.

When CAB officers moved in to seize the property last April after it was deemed the proceeds of crime, they had to use ladders to access the upper floor as the staircase had been removed.
