LOUTH FIND A WAY AS LAOIS GIVE IT A LASH

LOUTH advanced to the Leinster semi-final as they defeated Laois by five points in Newbridge.

Ger Brennan's charges trailed at half-time but scored two second half goals to clinch the result.

Louth were massive favourites but Brennan paid tribute to Laois for the way they made things difficult for his side.

He said: “They were extremely organised and structured.

"The two goals made the difference and thankfully we got over the line.”

Laois were full value for their lead at half-time.

Despite playing against the wind, Justin McNulty’s side were good on their kick-outs, tough in the tackle and accurate in front of goal.
