Latest in a lengthy list of blows to hit Boeing
Irish Daily Star
|June 14, 2025
THURSDAY'S Air India disaster is the first time a 787 Dreamliner has crashed but it is only the latest in a string of woes for manufacturer Boeing.
Airlines operating the model had already been plagued by persistent engine issues.
And Boeing is still battling the fallout from 2018 and 2019 crashes of its 737 Max aircraft in Indonesia and Ethiopia, which killed 346 people.
Those disasters were traced to a software malfunction.
Last month, Boeing agreed to pay $1.1billion in a settlement with the US Department of Justice to avoid prosecution over the Max crashes.
