Lallana calls time on his long career after calling time on Saints return
ADAM LALLANA admits he has “lived out a dream” after calling time on his long and distinguished career.
The former England, Liverpool and Southampton midfielder reckons he has been on a “crazy” journey in a professional career spanning almost two decades.
Lallana, 37, who also had spells with Bournemouth and Brighton, won 34 caps and represented the Three Lions at two major tournaments.
He also scored three goals for England - including the one in Sam Allardyce’s only England game as manager - a 1-0 victory over Slovakia.
Lallana admits he has been on quite a ride, and will retire with no regrets.
He said: “As I call time on my playing career, I do so with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride.
