BOUBYAN was a big eyecatcher on his return at Windsor, his first start since being gelded, travelling best held up but allowing the winner a bit too much rope before running on with gusto to finish third.

That was an improvement on his juvenile form and he can do better again, with Newbury more suited to his run style.

A strong pace looks assured in this 17-runner affair, with several of these having shown a tendency to lead in previous races, and that will work well for Boubyan, who is likely to be delivered from off the pace again.

He looked ahead of his mark at Windsor and can gain a first win from an unchanged mark before going on to better things.
