JIM: FRUSTRATION WITH CALLS LED TO SIDELINE TENSION
Irish Daily Star
|June 02, 2025
JIM McGuinness insists his frustration was with the officials and not with Cavan boss Raymond Galligan after the pair clashed during yesterday's round two tie at Kingspan Breffni.
Donegal coasted to a 19-point win to join Cavan, Mayo and Tyrone on two points in Group One.
The Ulster champions were seven up at half-time thanks to a late goal from Finnbarr Roarty and pulled clear in the second half with further goals from Conor O'Donnell and Caolan McColgan.
Tempers were frayed during the first half with several late hits and off-the-ball incidents with McGuinness and Galligan squaring up along the sideline at one point.
Speaking after the game, McGuinness was asked about the flashpoint.
"We were frustrated with some of the calls. We were trying to talk to the officials," said McGuinness.
