THE weekend looks to be an Easter washout with a wet and dull forecast with weather warnings and flood fears for several counties.
-
Heavy rain was due in 11 counties with a Status Orange rain warning for Wicklow ending today at 11am.
A separate Status Yellow rain warning for Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Louth, Waterford and Wexford was due to end earlier at бат.
Rain warnings for counties Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway and Mayo ended last night.
Met Eireann predicted "localised flooding" in all affected counties over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Weather presenter Audrey McGrath said: "It's all down to a low pressure system that is slow moving and bringing plenty of rain.
"The latest radar pictures are very angry looking with plenty of heavy rain leading to some flooding in parts. It is quite windy too."
She added: "But it will brighten up on Easter Sunday. There will be some rain and drizzle to start with more coming later from the Atlantic.
"There will be more rain and sunshine on Easter Monday."
