Porter: Galthie can say what he likes.. the Dupont incident's one of those unfortunate things

IT'S A STORM IN TEACUP FROM WHERE I'M SITTING

ANDREW PORTER has slammed Fabien Galthie and French accusations that he deliberately tried to injure Antione Dupont.

The French scrum-half, their prize asset and fans favourite, ruptured cruciate ligaments following a 29th minute passage of play near the Ireland 22 metre line (right).

It was a rugby collison argued Porter flatly - and he won't be tossing and turning at night about it either.

"Not really bothered," sniffed Porter of Galthie's declaration the incident was 'reprehensible and that Porter and Beirne should be cited.

"He can say what he wants, see how far it gets him. No, I wasn't disappointed. I knew what I did, I didn't go out to try and injure anyone. That's not the type of player I am.

"If he wants to think that, that's up to him. I even sent Antoine a message on Instagram just to see how he was. Obviously you never want to see anyone going off the pitch like that. If you have the head coach calling for your head it is a bit much to be fair.
