WITH country music always a staple on the Irish charts, 'cowboycore' has now found its way firmly into the travel market this year.

With travellers looking more into cowboy-inspired holidays in 2025, leading tour operator American Holidays has seen an uplift in interest in Wild West-inspired destinations.

This month also marks the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry, one of America's most iconic country music venues, with the celebrations set ot continue into the new year.

Here, Bladhana Richardson, Head of Marketing at American Holidays, shares her insight into the best US destinations if you're looking for a dose of cowboycore in 2026...

Fort Worth, Texas

Bladhana says: "They say everything is bigger in Texas, and this rings true whether it's the vast landscapes of Big Bend National Park, the iconic Route 66, or indulging in a hearty plate of Texas BBQ ribs.

"A holiday to 'The Lone Star State' offers the ultimate adventure for those eager to embrace their inner cowboy.

"Fort Worth is the greatest cowboy pilgrimage, whether learning about the heart of Western culture at Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame or letting loose and line dancing at Billy Bob's - the largest honky tonk in the world."

Steamboat Springs, Colorado
