Ireland's first military radar to be rolled out
TANAISTE Simon Harris will outline plans to roll out Ireland's first ever military radar programme at this morning's Cabinet meeting.
Mr Harris, the Defence Minister, will tell ministers his department has identified four countries with which it will now enter into formal negotiations and pick a preferred bidder later this year.
The radar programme is envisaged to be rolled out in phases from 2026 and completed in 2028.
Ireland is one of the only EU countries that does not have a primary radar system.
