Govt set to seek justice for Sean in visit to Leb

TANAISTE Simon Harris heads to Lebanon to visit Irish peacekeepers today and demand justice for slain Private Sean Rooney.

Mr Harris, who is minister for Defence as well as Foreign Affairs, is expected to meet Lebanese officials as part of the Government's campaign to make sure the killers of Pte Rooney in the south of the country are held to account.

Pte Rooney, from Co Donegal, was shot dead while on UNIFIL peace duty in December 2022 - but nobody has so far been convicted of his murder.
