The football deciders are Meath, Longford, Laois, Donegal, Carlow, Antrim, Cavan and Clare, with senior hurling silverware on the line in Kildare and Wicklow.

There's plenty of top club action at the semifinal stages too with massive football ties in Tyrone and Galway among others, and huge hurling games in Tipperary, Wexford, Dublin and Kilkenny.

We take a look at some of the big talking points this weekend:

1.COROFIN V SALTHILL-KNOCKNACARRA NOT ON THE BOX

THERE is no football fixture more tasty this weekend than Corofin versus Salthill-Knocknacarra in the Galway semifinals — and it's a real pity it's not live on TV.

Fans all over the country would have flocked to their couches to watch tonight's meeting at Pearse Stadium.

Salthill are anchored by All Star John Maher at midfield and also have county defender Daniel O'Flaherty, but it’s up front that they truly excite.

They have prolific scorers in another All Star, Robert Finnerty, Young Footballer of the Year nominee Matthew Thompson and Tomo Culhane. They also have the excellent Cahtal Sweeney, who can operate anywhere in the middle eight.
