Right-hand man Montgomery says they can't be called Spursy now
ANGE POSTECOGLOU'S job at Tottenham remains in huge doubt but his trusted assistant Nick Montgomery has insisted: “The future's bright.”
Postecoglou delivered on his conviction that “I always win things in my second year” by guiding Spurs to Europa League glory and securing Champions League qualification.
But the Australian also served up their worst-ever Premier League campaign, finishing just one place above the relegation zone.
His fate appears to hangs in the balance but right-hand man Montgomery said: “People can't use that ‘Spursy’ tag any more and winning the Europa League is a great opportunity for the club to really kick on.
“Tottenham have been desperate for a trophy for so long and some world-class managers and coaches have been here and not achieved what we did. ‘Rollercoaster’ is a well-used word in football but this season really did have many ups and downs.
