Don backs war chiefs' use of unsecured app

DONALD Trump has defended the use of an unsecured app for the group chat in which war plans were accidentally leaked to a reporter.

The country's virtual war room accidentally revealed strategies to strike Yemen's Houthi rebels to Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine.

Somehow Goldberg was mistakenly added to Trump's national security team group on Signal, where the information was being exchanged.

But Trump seemed to defend the app. “It's not a perfect technology, there is no perfect technology. The really good ones are very cumbersome, very hard to access," he told reporters yesterday.
