Humphreys: 6 month approval time too long

TDs should be able to sign people in to Leinster House on day passes "for maybe two or three weeks" while awaiting more formal approval, Heather Humphreys has said.

She criticised her presidential race rival Catherine Connolly for providing six months' access to a woman convicted of a firearms offence.

The Aras hopeful blasted Ms Connolly after it emerged she had employed a woman in Leinster House who had been found guilty by the Special Criminal Court for possession of firearms and ammunition more than 10 years ago.
