Big dogs have a ruff time getting adopted

SIZE does matter especially when it comes to dogs, after it was revealed that bigger dogs are less likely to be rehomed compared to smaller canines.

Described as the “underdogs”, these larger breeds are finding it more difficult than ever to find a new home and the housing crisis is exacerbating their plight.

Dogs Trust has highlighted the stark reality that bigger dogs tend to wait almost twice as long as smaller animals when it comes to finding a new home.

The country's leading dog welfare charity revealed that over the past two years, dogs classified as “large breeds” have spent, on average, 110 days in the charity's care.
