BARRETT: IT'S ABOUT US IMPOSING OUR GAME PLAN

CORK star Shane Barrett believes it's about 'weathering the tough moments' when you face a well-oiled Limerick machine.

- By KARL O'KANE

The Rebels' vice captain says Cork were blown out of the water when the sides met in the group stages three weeks ago, with Limerick inflicting a 16-point defeat on Pat Ryan's side.

Cork were never really in the game after the type of performance they would have felt they had eradicated from their locker, but this evening they go back to the scene of the crime with a far bigger prize at stake than a mere two points.

The Munster title is on the line, with Cork gunning for a first provincial crown since 2018 and Limerick going after the first ever seven-in-a-row.

It's the perfect chance for Cork to show they're still a force to be reckoned with, having beaten Limerick twice in last year’s championship, including knocking them out at the All-Ireland semi-final stage.

The hurt of the group game could be a factor for them:

"There wasn't anything we could have taken as a positive," said Barrett (24).

"They blew us completely out of the water.

"We had no answer for them whatsoever.
