Bar manager is cleared on a charge of manslaughter

A YOUNG bar manager was cleared by a jury of manslaughter yesterday.

Vincent Connolly, 28, of Cedar Hill, Westport, Co Mayo, wept uncontrollably after the unanimous verdict at Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court.

He had been accused of unlawfully killing Peter McDermott from Murrisk, Westport, at Hill Street, Westport, in the early hours of September 10, 2023.
