Bank robber's pad sells for €573k

THE home of one of Ireland's most notorious criminals has been sold for over €200,000 the reserve price tag.
Stefan Saunders' five-bedroom detached home in Clonee, Co Meath, which had a reserve of €354,000 went under the hammer at an online auction for €573,000 on Wednesday afternoon.
Also auctioned on the same day was a modest Co Laois cottage taken from burglary he and his wife Tammy lost a bid to have the Supreme Court overturn a decision making it the proceeds of crime.
That property, which is in need of modernisation, and had a reserve price of €90,000 went for just €1,000 over that price.
