PADDY Donovan has pulled out of his IBF world welterweight title eliminator fight with Liam Paro due to illness.
“The Real Deal’ was scheduled to face Paro in Brisbane on January 16.
However, promoter No Limit Boxing has stated that Donovan has withdrawn from the fight, with reports in Australia citing a dose of flu as the reason.
The bout was to serve as the co-feature to the Nikita Tszyu vs Michael Zerafa fight, with the winner set to become the mandatory challenger for the belt held by Lewis Crocker.
The Belfast man defeated Donovan for a second time in September to win the IBF title.
