AN 11-point victory did not flatter Wexford as they cruised into the Tailteann Cup quarter-finals by beating Antrim by 5-23 to 2-21 at Chadwicks Wexford Park.

For Wexford, it was a welcome triumph over the Saffrons who had defeated the Model County in their last two visits.

But there was never going to be a repeat as the home side took control in the second quarter to register a comfortable victory.

While Antrim, playing into the breeze, took the lead in the first minute through a Conor Hand point, this was the only time in the game they led. Home keeper Darragh Brooks pointed his side level almost immediately from a 45, while on six minutes Martin O'Connor moved through the defence to point the home side in front.
