A FOUR-TIME winner on the track, including this event in 2023, Mutasarref should prove tough to beat in the listed Bahrain Turf Club Knockaire Stakes in Leopardstown tomorrow.

- BY PETER O'HEHIR

Trained by Ger Lyons, this seven-year-old deserves to be considered a course specialist at Leopardstown, having failed only once to reach the frame in 11 visits to the Foxrock track.

He has won twice over seven furlongs and twice over tomorrow’s trip, a mile, here. And, although he hasn't triumphed since winning the listed Navigation Stakes in Cork a year ago, he has performed at a high level this season.

Winner of both the Desmond and Ballycorus over this course and distance last year, he finished fourth to Johan in the Desmond this season, having earlier filled third spot behind Diego Velazquez in the Group 2 Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh.
