Why is drone attack on Irish soil being swept under carpet?
Irish Daily Mirror
|December 09, 2025
THE great cover up is underway about an illegal and outrageous drone attack on this country last week.
Our joke of a Department of Defence is saying nothing, our military leaders are saying nothing and the new Defence Minister Helen McEntee is saying nothing.
We can thank our heroic gardai that we have any information at all.
The fact someone - most likely the Russians - sent five drones into Irish airspace to interfere with the Ukrainian President's Volodymyr Zelensky's aircraft is not apparently worth telling the people the truth immediately about.
Zelensky thankfully wasn't harmed and his plane did not land at the time expected.
The five unidentified drones were initially spotted 12 miles north east of Dublin and heading in the direction of the flight path of the Ukrainian leader's aircraft.
They should have been blown out of the sky immediately but our navy and military bosses thought otherwise. Baffled gardai can not understand why our military did not intervene and open fire like the French defence forces did when a similar incident happened the week before.
